Do you have a child who is starting school in September 2026?
We are a warm, welcoming school community where all we do is based on the Gospel values and prayer is a key part of our day.
As we are a small school with one class per year group, our children enjoy a caring environment where each child is known by name, every success is celebrated and each challenge is supported and overcome.
Our school community is wonderfully diverse, as Ofsted said we are ‘like a window on the world’ as our families come from many different countries and speak over 20 different languages. This is celebrated and we have been awarded a Gold award for the provision we have to help our children learn English. We warmly welcome children of all faiths and backgrounds.
Alongside our academic successes, we feel that music is a very important aspect of life and worship and we give our children many opportunities to develop musical proficiency. In addition to curriculum music, we offer lessons in a range of instruments including vocal coaching. We have a school choir which visits many care homes and businesses in the local area frequently.

We also have a parent’s information meeting on Wednesday 5th November at 6.30pm for you to meet our staff team and find out more about learning at our school.

Starting School September 2026
We are delighted you are considering applying for a place at our school for your child/ren. Applying for a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make and we would encourage all parents to visit the school before they make an application for their child/ren to join St Swithun Wells Catholic Primary School.
We will be offering open morning for new parents and children to attend together on Thursday 8th January 2026 between 9.15am and 10.30am.

If you are applying for a place for your child/ren to start school during the academic year 2025-2026 that started on September 1st 2025, please use the 2025-2026 Policy.
The 2026-2027 Admissions Policy and SIF should be used for children due to start school in September 2026.
